Post Bix 2008

Can you imagine non-Christians lining up at your door waiting to hear what God had to say to them? If you were at the Bix Fest this past month, you don't have to imagine it; we witnessed it.

Here are a few takes on the Bix Outreach last month...

From Cheryl Lockett --

Scott, where would I begin? I learned SO very much at the Bix Outreach! I learned about myself, personally. I learned and learned and learned and learned about my God and how to minister to a lost and dying world "under cover". I now prefer stealth action vs. right out in the open ministry!

I have been seeking God for a successful way to minister and I have found it. To allow God - the creator of the universe - enough space in me to be able to receive revelation about another human being, share it in an unthreatening way, and then watch as their world crumbles around them and a realization of a God who is actually greater than they are take place was absolutely amazing.

I learned so much watching Reesee and the accuracy that he has in the spirit. The humility that I saw with all of the leaders ministered to me as well.

To say that I "have been spoiled" as Danette kept saying we would be would be an understatement. :-)

There were so many people I was on a team with that ministered to me, but I think the one that ministered most to my soul was the four teenagers right before we left on Saturday evening. Jill, Ashlyn, Lacey, and a young man. To see how the three of us worked together as a team - each coming with pieces of the spiritual readiings was awesome. To see how each one of the four teenagers got ministered to was amazing. To see two of the four of them break in to tears - with the accuracy that we were exhibiting. Wow. I never knew that the God in me could be that accurate. I never knew. I've always wondered, questioned, knew that the revelatory is a part of who I am - but to actually see it in action was pretty amazing and humbling. It really is not about us. It is totally about God!

From Ellen Cooke --

I am just so thankful to have been a part of this outreach....God is
so good, so gracious, so faithful, and so loving in working in and
through us to bring light, love, encouragement, hope, and blessings to
each person who came to the tent. The stories are too numerous, yet
they have one main thing in common, god's love threads through all of
them.

I know at one point on Saturday, I felt that I was standing under a
portal of joy. There was no stopping of the laughter and joy.......
Roger can attest to that.

Thanks for all you have done to bring this event to be...

Blessings,

ellen

From Gary Ellis --

One thing that impacted me as much or more than anything else was the fact that the things spoken that seemed so simple and not deep at all had such an impact on many of the people being read. I was privileged to be in the first team that did the first reading of the first day with David and I think Cathy. The middle aged lady that sat down was visibly moved. She left saying that “the reading” was the best thing that happened to her in a long time. It started by David seeing a vision of a suitcase covered with travel stickers. She said, “I am here for a visit but I live in Cairo , Egypt . I was in Paris last week, and will be in London next week. We were able to give her some significant words of encouragement that really touched her heart. So much so that she sent a friend to sit in who was equally impressed and blessed.

I also had an experience with being on a team where a Reiki Healer brought a friend of hers. She came in large and in charge and left shaken by the experience from what Tara said about a conversation she later had with her. Also, the Psychic who had a booth came by ours. Recie brought her over to our team. She was basically there to challenge us, but it was a good learning experience.

Also another man who said he was a clairvoyant for the past 15 years came to our team. His motive was to actually promote himself, and show us that he could read us which he kept insisting on doing but which we finally asked him politely to move on. Again, according to Recie, this was excellent training in how to respond to serious Psychics and New Age schooled people.

We actually had the opportunity to “speak blessings over” (pray) for several people which deeply touched them. Some seemed pretty general and light, but some words from teams I was in went very specific and deep and were accurate enough to cause great reactions of surprise from them. In those cases, we asked why they thought we were so accurate, and then said it was because the Creator really wants them to know that He knows them and cares about them. All it all, it was a very exciting couple of days.

From Marcia Moore –

Being a part of the Bix outreach was an incredible experience. I’ve been involved in ministry for over twenty years and am always excited to see the Lord work in new ways. I had the privilege of being taught “Power Evangelization” by John Wimber in the ‘80’s which was very exciting for that time. I see this new wave of evangelization as needed for this time. Revelatory evangelization makes so much sense because it meets each person individually where they are.

I know it was the Holy Spirit that led me to John Paul’s website in February where I amazingly discovered ‘The Art of Hearing God’ being offered right here in Bettendorf Iowa . When I first heard Tara mention the Bix, I had no idea what she was talking about but something quickened in my spirit and I knew I had to be a part of that. It was a humbling yet exciting experience to see the power of God working time after time with the people that came for a “word.”

The Lord’s sense of humor was displayed for his people when I spoke out words like, “cheerleader, basketball and percolator” and watched their reaction. There were two particular situations where I felt the people were sent directly to the team I was with. One was late Saturday night while there were 9 teams working and a waiting line. I saw a very oppressed looking woman waiting in line. She looked as though she had had a very difficult life and I would have guessed her to be my age or older. She introduced herself as Karen. She began telling us her story and really wanted counsel and advice. I did not recognize Karen as someone I have known since before she was born! As she spoke her voice sounded familiar but looking at her, I would have never guessed it was the sweet young woman with sparkle in her eyes that I once knew. I looked intently at her and the Holy Spirit prompted me, “Ask her if she knows you.” This was truly a witness to the power of God as I explained to her that it was no accident that she ended up at this place at this time with the team I was working with. The team gave her encouraging words and I offered to counsel with her later. I ask for prayers for her that she will come and that God will restore her life.

The other situation that was to powerful for me was a young married Hispanic couple with a baby. The wife came for a spiritual reading then the husband sat down and at first seemed reluctant but when he heard what the team had to say to his wife, he wanted a spiritual reading as well. After some conversation with the team, she said that she was raised Catholic and he also had been raised Catholic. She said she has a desire to develop her spirituality but he was resistant, particularly to church. One of the team members began talking to them when the Spirit rose up in me. I told them, “I am a Catholic and I love the Lord and the Holy Spirit.” It’s not about religion, it’s about relationship. I did not find that in the Catholic Church but I now am able to bring that light, that love, into my faith, into my church. I encouraged them to develop their relationship first and see where the Lord leads them. I know I said more than that and I know it was not me speaking. They left with gratitude and smiles. I pray they will seek and find relationship with Jesus and know He will lead them.

The last thing I want to say is that I met so many wonderful, loving people on the team. It was an honor to work with each person that I was teamed with and I pray that this is just the beginning!

Blessings,

Marcia Moore

This is the Kingdom! This is what we are supposed to be about! Show the world the Kingdom and they will line up to experience it.

We are in the days of Ezekiel's River, not the Pool of Bethsaida. At the Bethsaida, the world must come to a specific place and wait for something supernatural to happen. In Ezekiel's River, the supernatural flows out of the Temple and gets wider and deeper the further it goes.

So where's your river? Where do you want to go to get into the deep and wide?

Randy Clark in Ankeny, Iowa

Randy Clark will be at the School of Healing and Impartation at Heartland Assembly of God in Ankeny, Iowa this week. Check out Heartland's website for more information.

Did you ever wonder what God could do with a can of beans? Havilah Jones in Davenport had one very strange, God experience with a can of beans recently. Havilah works at a Hy-Vee grocery store in Davenport. A customer had picked up the wrong type of refried beans to qualify the purchase under WIC rules. Havilah offered to go find the right beans so she could complete her purchase. When she went back to the aisle, she could not find the store brand of beans. She returned to the register with the same can and apologized to the customer but offered her the can back if she wanted to buy it. As she stretched out her arm to offer the customer the can, she looked down and saw that the can was clearly marked the Hy-Vee store brand.

God is up to some real mind-blowing activities. He is on the move in our area healing people, prophesying to them in the shopping malls, and changing the labels on cans of refried beans. Get ready people. If you aren't already, you need to expect to see some real "Star Wars" kind of stuff happening in your life and the life's of those around you.

Absolutely Amazing!!!

Susan and I spent a week in Columbia with Bill & Carol Dew and a team of 20 last month. We saw and experienced things that were just flat out beyond the natural mind.

While Bill was speaking the Holy Spirit told him about a man in the audience. He announced, "there is someone here who had been in accident 5 years ago and you have not been able to use your hands since. God is healing you right now."

A few minutes later, Bill asked for people to come forward who God had healed. In front of me, a man walked up through the chairs staring at his outstretched arms, sobbing. He told the story of how he had been in a car accident five years previous. He broke both his arms, they did not heal properly, and he had not been able to turn his forearms or use his hands since. God healed him entirely instantly!!! WOW!!!

One of our team member prayed with a young girl who had several problems, one of which was that she had not been able to walk. She walked for the first time in her life that night.

I myself seemed to get a lot of people with asthma. The expression of surprise and delight on their faces as their breathing got easier and deeper was just priceless.

God is in a good mood and He is in the healing business!!!

I've been sent some pretty unusual photos from Eagle Rock Christian Center in Peru, IL. All of the following photos came from digital cameras (no film aberrations) and clean lenses.

Some of you may have heard about orbs in photos. They appear to be angelic manifestations. Check this out...
The room in the following photo was dimly lit, and there was no light source in the area where the bright light overpowered the photo.
This following one I just don't get at all. This isn't photoshopped people.
I've talked to some folks who have been studying the relationship between physics and spiritual dynamics. Is the Holy Spirit just playing with His own laws of physics? Just a thought.

Some mighty interesting stories are coming out of Eagle Rock. You may want to go see what is going on up there.

Kim Farb of Geneseo found herself weeping during the Sunday service on January 13th. She have a vision of what appeared to a metallic skeleton on her back. The same vision reappeared the following Tuesday at her intercessors gathering when a prayer request for a friend battling cancer came up. As they prayed for their friend, the vision changed into something like a bird of prey that had its talons dug into the man's back. They commanded it to let go. When the friend returned to the doctor later that week, the lung cancer they had expected to drain had disappeared!

YAY GOD!!!

Do you know all the different ways God speaks to people? Nancy Cobb from Bethel Church in Redding, CA was sharing just a few of these at the Everyday Prophecy Conference recently at Bethel Valparaiso . The methods include: that still small voice in the back of your head; circumstances; impressions; someone reminds you of someone else; that song you just can't get out of your head; sudden unexplained changes in emotions or mood; smells; and prophetic acts. Look at your life. What are some of the ways God uses to speak to you that you may have not picked up on before?

Keep in mind... God is not human, and His first language is not English.

Had to make some changes...

Tara Burton was supposed to come to the Quad Cities on February 3rd at the Davenport Vineyard and The Sanctuary. She will now be coming on February 17th. She will be at Davenport Vineyard at 6pm and The Sanctuary at 10am.

There was a bit of a problem identified with the original February 3rd date... the Superbowl. Probably wouldn't have created a problem for The Sanctuary, but the Vineyard might have had a problem in the evening.

What does getting hit in the head with a pipe cutter have to do with God?

We need your testimonies and events. When you hear a great story of God doing stuff, let us know. Let us know as well about any upcoming events in the area.

Send us information at GreatRiverRenewal@gmail.com

Several great events are upcoming. Please check out the calendar at www.GreatRiverRenewal.com

Here are a few examples...

Mike & Cindy Jacobs will be in Des Moines at Iowa Arise! this Friday, December 14th.

Plan ahead… Streams prophetic ministry training is coming to the Quad City area in April and May.

Keep you feet in different streams! This is an excellent way to ensure the fresh water of the Holy Spirit is filling your life.

Christopher Olson from Heartland Assembly of God in Ankeny, IA let me know about their recent meeting with Joel and Linda Budd. Evidently, it was quite the meeting. I hate that I missed it.

Here’s just one comment he sent to me… “One guy, Fred, who has had colon problems for years was totally healed. Another guy, Bob, had been passing blood every day for about 20 yrs. because of colon problems was healed and has not passed blood since.”

November 25th – Howard reported that the previous Sunday, a chronic case of strep throat was starting again. He received prayer from a group at the Sanctuary. The strep was completely healed.

December 9th – Jim was working with his friend Lenny in the previous week to put in a bathroom in Lenny’s basement. They couldn’t find the copper tubing cutter. After searching for the cutter for quite a while, Jim asked God to show him where the cutter was. Jim’s attention was immediately drawn to two coffee cans. He opened one, nothing. He opened the other, nothing. The cutter then dropped from somewhere above and hit Jim square on the head.

December 9th – Last week Bethany was working when God gave her a song to sing. After singing the song through her work day, she ran into a friend who had a cold. She asked to pray for her. She told her the next day the cold was completely gone.

Later in the week she was leaving her church group, Bethany came upon a lady in a stalled van at 9:30 at night. She offered to drive the lady home or pray for her van. Since she was stalled on a snow route, the woman felt she couldn’t leave her van. So Bethany prayed a quick prayer, stepped back, and said “There. Your van should start now!” The lady turned the key, the van started, and she drove off. Leaving, the driver shouted out her window, “God Bless You!”

Here is a great testimony sent to us by our great friend Bill Dew…

FOLLOW THIS STORY—A KEY TO HEALING

I know I’ve spoken of this before, but we’re seeing it as so important and so effective. Revelation 19:10 says “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophesy.” It’s not just a nice little story when we tell what Jesus has done—it literally puts into the spiritual atmosphere that which can be duplicated! So, when we tell the stories, if the person needing breakthrough can grab hold of the testimony and say “He’s no respecter of persons, if He did it for them, He can do it for me,” many times we see the healing occur.

THE SET-UP

Follow me on this: I’m standing in front of the congregation in Cali, Colombia several weeks ago. I’m telling the story of praying for a group in Manizales, Colombia the year before, under a time limit. So I had the 30+ put their hands on what hurt. I then said I saw some put their hands on their head, some on their shoulder, some on their hip. Now in Cali, as I was mentioning this, I noticed a woman right in front of me in about the 4th row. She had her arm in a blue sling and as I talked about having the people put their hand on a shoulder if it hurt, her arm starting flapping. I pointed at her and said “You’re getting healed, aren’t you?” I knew she was about to pull her arm out of the sling—and she did. When she raised her arm and started waving it, the 900+ present went ballistic. Now, here’s the point.

THE POINT IS IN THE STORY—A DRAMATIC HEALING!

Ten days later, we went to Davenport, Iowa to minister in a church. When we walked into this church we had never been to before, I noticed a woman with a badge on, like she was in some official capacity—and she had her arm in a blue sling. Many times the Lord uses similar things to speak to us. I had just seen this healed—I have faith for this! And, Psalm 34:7 was coming true—“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” When I first saw her, my heart just went out to her—this just wasn’t right, it was illegal in the Kingdom! Toward the end of the morning service, I called her out and asked if we could pray for her, and she said yes. She explained she had torn her rotator cuff a year before in a fall down some steps, had bone spurs and some other complications. She had surgery 3 weeks before, would have to endure 3 months of physical therapy, and she was still in so much pain she said, “just don’t touch me when you pray.” I had several people I had prophesied and prayed over help me and we basically just prayed around her for about a minute. She had already taken her arm out of the sling and demonstrated her lack of mobility and where the pain would start, so we knew we would have a gauge. I asked her if it was any better and if she could now do something she couldn’t before. When she put her arm straight up, the place went ballistic—sound familiar? WOW, WOW, WOW!

God just continues to amaze us, and we want to continue to be like the little kid in the candy store---wow, God, soooo cool! Next, God gets the opportunity to wow us in Brazil, as we lead a 2 week Global Awakening trip, with Randy Clark coming to join us for the last part of the trip. Be blessed.

Testimonies... God does it for them, He'll do it for you!

Great River Renewal is dependent upon you. We need your testimonies of what God is doing in our area. We need you to spread this to others. Please forward this newsletter to your contact list. We want this newsletter to be gathering from and giving to Christians all over the Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

Email us at GreatRiverRenewal@gmail.com and let us know about your testimonies and upcoming events.

We’ve made some changes to Great River Renewal. In an effort to make this better, and make the calendar better in particular; Great River Renewal is now housed at Blogger.com. We will still run the email list through inJesus, so you don’t need to make any changes in your subscription. However, you should change your bookmarks for Great River Renewal. So go now to www.GreatRiverRenewal.com and bookmark that page.

Testimony: Marlene had been diagnosed since childhood with a mitral-valve prolapse. It had unfortunately become such a significant issue that she and her doctor’s were preparing for a medical procedure to correct the problem. Late in October, Marlene was at the Sanctuary in Davenport and went up for prayer, not necessarily for the valve problem. The prayer concluded with something to the effect of “and Lord, give her an overhaul.”

On November 11th, Marlene reported she had been to the doctor’s office earlier in the week. They could find no evidence of the heart condition that she had for over forty years.

Testimony: Ryan is a young man who had been in a very bad car accident a couple years ago. He had been in continual pain for more than two years. Recently, he visited the Sanctuary. During worship, the Holy Spirit led Inga to go pray for Ryan. Later that morning, Gary led Ryan in a prayer for salvation. Inga spoke with Ryan later that week. He said, “I don’t know what you did, but I haven’t had any pain since you prayed for me.”

Testimony: Havilah Jones was recently participating in the All-State Choir festival in Des Moines (Congratulations Havilah!). For hours, she and a couple hundred other students were stuck in metal folding chairs for rehearsal after rehearsal. Sitting next to her was a young man who had problems with his legs that would cause significant pain if he wasn’t able to get up and walk around. That was pretty much impossible when you are in the middle of a sea of students, packed together with no room to stretch your legs, let along walk around. Havilah offered to pray for him which he less than enthusiastically agreed to. She prayed a simple prayer that the pain would leave his legs. At the next break she asked him how his legs were doing. The pain was gone completely.

Testimony: On November 11th, Natalie Schneckloth was at the Sanctuary in Davenport. She responded to a call for prayer that God wants to hear what you want. She and her husband Cory needed a financial breakthrough. On November 18th, Natalie reported that she had just had the most prosperous week in the history of her relatively new Mary Kay business. The normal goal for someone in her position would be 30 meetings in a month. She had 30 meetings that week, and received more business in one week than she had seen in the previous five weeks combined.

Calendar: Several new events have been added to the calendar. The calendar is located at the bottom of the page at www.GreatRiverRenewal.com .

Iowa Arise! with Mike & Cindy Jacobs is on December 14th in Des Moines.

River of The Holy Spirit

Here in the Upper Midwest, our area is dominated by one geographic feature… the Mississippi River. Mississippi means “Great River”. But did you know that it hasn’t always been called Mississippi?

In May 1541, the great Spanish explorer Hernando DeSoto became the first explorer to document the Great River. The first name DeSoto gave to this river was Rio de Espiritu SantoRiver of the Holy Spirit.

We’ve made some changes to Great River Renewal. In an effort to make this better, and make the calendar better in particular; Great River Renewal is now housed at Blogger.com. Testimony: Mitch and Inga Stohl told us an incredible story of reconciliation and healing at The Sanctuary this past Sunday.

Inga was contacted by her ex-husband several weeks ago. He had been recently diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma cancer. He was in need of a bone marrow transplant and wanted to ask his daughters to consider being tested. What for many would have been an opportunity for the devil to exacerbate old wounds, turned out to be a great time of reconciliation between Inga, her daughters, and her ex-husband.

While visiting him in the hospital, Inga and Mitch prayed for him that a large tumor on the side of his neck would be healed. The tumor completely disappeared in a couple days.

Mitch and Inga also prayed with their prayer group that his disability income that was being held up by the state would come through. The money was released to her ex the next day, and it was more than he expected.

Testimony: A friend of mine from the Quad Cities area visited Heartland Assembly in Ankeny last week and met with some of their folks trained in Sozo Ministry. Sozo is a model of deliverance and inner healing that relies on the active direction of the Holy Spirit. She was thrilled with the experience and got set free from problems plaguing her since childhood. In addition, the meaning of a vision that the Holy Spirit had been revealing to her for almost forty years was finally revealed to her.

Welcome to the very first posting on Great River Renewal. WOOHOO!!

Let's hear about some of the great things God has been doing...

Gary Ellis of The Sanctuary in Davenport, Iowa recently returned from a trip to Cali, Columbia with Bill & Carol Dew.

Gary prayed for a man who was blind. He couldn't see four inch letters on a sign ten yards away. Gary laid hands on his eyes and prayed for him. The first time his sight was better. So Gary prayed again. The second time it was really better. Gary walked him to the platform to report his testimony, while walking to the platform the man's eyes cleared to 100%.

A man came to one of the meetings in Columbia who had been in an accident six years before. He had not been able to get around without help and had been bound to a wheelchair for years. He was dramatically healed in the middle of the teaching while Bill instructed the man's wife to pray for him. The man walked to the platform saying out loud "Wow! Wow!".

While Bill was relaying the story of a woman who had her shoulder healed, another woman with her arm in a sling began swinging her arm around and around which had been immovable when she came to the meeting.

While ministering in Muscatine two weeks ago, Gary saw one woman get healed of chronic back problems. Another woman had an arm that was broken and had a steel rod in her arm. She couldn't lift her arm above her head. While praying for her, the woman lifted her arm effortlessly above her head. She hadn't been able to do that in two years. Another woman in Muscatine had her hip healed and was able to walk without pain for the first time in years.

Three weeks ago at the Sanctuary while arriving a meeting, we learned that the daughter of one of our friends became terribly ill and they rushed her to the hospital. Our church began praying and declaring the young girl healed. The next week Trish relayed how her daughter suddenly became well at the same time we were praying. The doctor's could not explain what happened.

For years and years and years, Denise McNeal wanted to know who her biological parents were, but could not get any information out of the state about the adoption. Four weeks ago she mentioned to a state worker about a life-threatening disease she had 10 years earlier. The state worker said they could use that as an excuse to get at least some information. That information was all Denise's daughter needed to finally put all the puzzle pieces together. Three weeks ago Denise finally had the opportunity to meet her birth mother and the family she never knew she had. What the devil tried to use to kill her, God turned around into one of the greatest blessings of her life.

Natalie Bickford received prayer to be delivered from fear at the recent meetings with Bill & Carol Dew. She has now been sleeping through the night with no nightmares for the first time in over ten years.

Two weeks ago, Phil Benson had a dramatic encounter with God at the Sunday service at the Sanctuary. The following week, Phil reported that he had been suffering from terrible leg cramps every night for the past 15 years. He has not had any leg cramps since receiving prayer and has been sleeping throughout the night.

Havilah Jones was prayed for at the Good News Center about two and a half weeks ago. She had been suffering from asthma and had to take treatments regularly. She was completely healed and hasn't had a problem with asthma since.

PRAISE GOD!!! Do It Again GOD!! Do It Again!!

Send me your testimonies. Let's here what God is doing in our region!
